For school children of any age, Garden City Sanitation has a great show-and-tell display that teaches kids about what should go in the garbage and recycling. Contact us today to arrange for our display to visit your school!

If you teach children ages 4-6, a Garden City Sanitation representative would love to come to your classroom to do a book-reading and short activity. The 25 minute reading and activity teach the kids about the importance and ease of recycling. If you’re interested, please contact our office.

Below are two lesson plans that you may print and use at your convenience. They are most appropriate for middle-school science classes.

• The first one takes you to Cal State Humboldt’s website. “Landfill in a Bottle” is a hands-on activity that visually shows how certain materials do or don’t breakdown in a landfill. Click here.
